Progressive side bets: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker often contain one of these. You generally place a bet (a dollar is the normal amt.) to attempt to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Though huge jackpots like these are particularly alluring, they are also particularly difficult to win. You might need to hit a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this bet. Also, picture this- you wager 20 hands and lay the side wager each time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the actual game bet instead of a sucker bet. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a wager with more favorable odds utilizing that $20.
Individual number wagers in Roulette: This is completely true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only 1. This shifts the complete house advantage from two% with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5.26% in American. The one number bet has just a one in thirty eight chance of succeeding, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets as a substitute which have a much lower house edge.
Keno: Any variation of Keno, and regardless of how you bet on it, the casino advantage can be a huge twenty-five percent. Yes, that is not a error. Due to the large set of numbers you have to pick, it’s not recommended to wager on Keno very much. A couple of times for enjoyment, maybe. But don’t waste all your cash on it or you will quickly discover yourself broke.
