The internet gaming business in the UK has doubled in five years, with higher than a million punters regularly gambling by using the net. According to research carried out by the Dept. of Culture, Media and Sport, British gamblers make up around 1/3rd of the Old World’s estimated total of 3.3 million web bettors.

The average cash amount wagered by each bettor is estimated at one thousand pounds, with the European sector now valued at three point five billion pounds each year.

Among the 70 online betting casinos in the United Kingdom, none are gaming web sites advertising casino card games like poker and blackjack. A majority of the world’s two thousand web betting sites are stationed in places with dubious online casino codes. Antigua and Costa Rica account for more than one thousand sites between them.

The Government in the United Kingdom is hoping to introduce procedures and a tax setup to manage the operating of the internet betting business. With this type of laws in place, web wagering activities would be monitored and the business can hope to achieve even greater heights in the next few years.
